For more than 20 years, Howard Prep’s Culinary Department has delivered more than quality meals, we’ve delivered opportunity. From our commercial kitchen, we prepare nutritious, high-volume orders for behavioral health centers, senior facilities, recovery homes, and community organizations throughout the region. These partnerships generate essential revenue that strengthens our programs while creating a real-world training environment where adults with disabilities gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced professional kitchen.

What makes our Culinary Services truly exceptional is the leadership and involvement of our program participants. They don’t just observe, they contribute at every step, from prepping ingredients and fulfilling large orders to baking cookies, muffins, cinnamon rolls, and coffee cakes. Along the way, they build practical skills, confidence, and independence—and for several individuals, that growth has led directly to paid employment within our kitchen. This is workforce development with lasting impact.
